Frequently Asked Questions
Working With Kamala
-
At Kamala, we offer 1:1 and group experiences designed to support greater awareness, connection and meaningful change. These include Kundalini Awareness, breathwork, Reiki, NLP-informed work, meditation, somatic and embodiment practices, facilitator training, events and retreats. Each approach offers a different way to explore the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, body, subconscious patterns and inner experience.
-
You do not need any previous experience. You may begin with a group Kundalini Awareness or breathwork session, or choose personalised 1:1 work if you would prefer individual support. If you are unsure, you are welcome to arrange an informal conversation with Nancy before booking. Together, you can discuss what you are experiencing and which approach may be most appropriate.
-
The most suitable session will depend on what you would like support with, how you currently feel and whether you prefer individual or group work. Some people are drawn to a particular practice, while others simply know that something needs to change. You do not need to decide alone—contact Nancy to discuss your needs before choosing a session.
-
1:1 sessions provide a private space to explore what is happening beneath the surface of your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and relationships. Depending on your needs, a session may draw from NLP, somatic awareness, breathwork, Reiki, meditation or Kundalini Awareness. The approach is personalised rather than prescriptive, and you will not be expected to share or experience anything before you feel ready.
-
Yes. Selected 1:1 sessions, including NLP-informed work, breathwork, Reiki and Kundalini Awareness, can be offered online. In-person sessions are also available in Berkshire. Practices involving cacao, Bobinsana tea or in-person sound experiences are not offered virtually. Group events, training and retreats will clearly state whether they are in person or online.
-
Kamala offers complementary wellbeing, self-awareness and personal-development practices rather than psychotherapy, medical care or mental-health treatment. Sessions may support reflection, emotional awareness, nervous-system regulation and a deeper understanding of personal patterns, but they are not a replacement for support from a qualified medical or mental-health professional when this is needed.
Sessions and Events
-
No previous experience is required for most Kamala sessions and events. Each experience will be introduced clearly, and you will be supported to participate at a level that feels appropriate for you. Facilitator training has its own attendance and completion requirements, which are explained on the training page.
-
For most in-person sessions, please wear comfortable clothing and bring water, a yoga mat, a blanket and anything else that will help you feel settled. Eye masks and additional supportive items may be suggested for particular experiences. Full preparation details will always be included with your booking confirmation.
-
Most Kamala sessions are created for adults, but selected festivals, meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and sound experiences may be suitable for children or families. The event description will clearly state any age requirements and whether a parent or guardian must remain present. Please contact Nancy before booking if you are unsure.
-
Some breathwork, Kundalini Awareness and other embodied practices may not be suitable for everyone. Relevant considerations can include pregnancy, epilepsy, certain cardiovascular conditions, recent surgery and some physical or mental-health circumstances. Any applicable guidance will be provided before booking. If you have a health condition or are unsure whether a practice is appropriate, please contact Nancy and seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional where necessary.
-
Yes. Kamala can create tailored experiences for private groups, celebrations, retreats, festivals, schools, workplaces and community events. These may include breathwork, meditation, sound, Reiki, Kundalini Awareness or a carefully selected combination of practices. Contact Nancy to discuss your group, setting and what you would like the experience to support.
